Angel’s Sunflower Field in Candelaria, Quezon

Candelaria, Quezon is my hometown. It is a first class municipality in the province of Quezon known for its annual celebration of ‘The Candle Festival’. It will always have a  special place in my heart since it is where I was lovingly raised by my Lola Rose and Lolo Oscar.

I technically left my hometown to study college here in Manila 10 years ago. It’s something heartbreaking, but of course, I brought with me the fond memories I had with my Decena-Radores family, my bestfriend and friends, the rivers, and the infamous crispy pata of Candelaria(?)haha.

Last summer, my family and I were able to drop by this new tourist attraction in my hometown called ‘Angel’s Sunflower Field’. It is a vast flower and vegetable garden which became popular since last year because of the beautiful shrubs and of course, its main star-the sunflower plants.

Upon entering the place, a guide will ask you to register and pay the entrance fee. The entrance fee costs 30.00php per person(20.00 php if you are a student, senior citizen, PWD). A red stamp would be placed on your hand to indicate that you are already paid.

Now let’s start exploring the field. For the first stop we have this cute little corner decorated with colorful hats, a bicycle, and a variety of indoor tropical plants.  Best place to chill.

Yes, this field is along the highway. You better go there early to avoid the crowd and the noisy cars.

Fruits and vegetables were also planted around the field. From the most common kinds to the rarest ones.

There were studies supporting the notion that flowers actually induce positive emotions.  Make yourself happier by visiting this farm and surrounding yourself with God’s wonderful creations.

Stay happy and healthy!
